What does Aquabum Underwater Detail do to preserve the environment?

Aquabum Underwater Detail is driven and motivated to preserve the waters of Southern California. However with all this talk about preservation, what do we do about it? What makes Aquabum Underwater Detail any greener than the next diving agency?

We are constantly removing trash from the water. By the end of the day, our divers will have articles of trash in their carts that were previously floating around in the water.

We never use WD-40 or other harmful chemicals when lubricating our tools and equipment. We use environmentally-friendly biodegradable lubricants. We use bio-products that contain vegetable oils and animal fats. Aquabum Underwater Detail never uses petroleum-based or chemical products near the water.

We engage in local environmental events including clean-ups, local awareness and primary education

We are members of the University of San Diego environmental studies academic community, and we are progressively becoming more aware of underwater pollution, especially with respect to copper speciation and contamination in the San Diego Harbor.

We were certified through the California Professional Divers Association in high standards hull cleaning practices.

The standard cleaning pads are made from 3M. We use softer and deeper pads that are designed not to be as abrasive as the industry standard. This will preserve paint quality, ensuring that less copper will be emitted into the environment.

We aim at water conservation when we wash our gear and we always use biodegradable soaps.

We use 100% post-consumer recycled paper for all of our letters, estimates and invoices. In order to conserve paper, we also offer paperless invoices as well as a fully-functioning online bill-pay webpage.

Rest assured that by allowing Aquabum Underwater Detail to manage all of your underwater needs, you will be doing your part in conserving the ocean!
