About Us
Aquabum Underwater Detail   ab

Introduced in May 22, 2008 when the diving sector of Marine Management became independent from its other marine services. Marine Management and Aquabum Underwater detail, although two seperate entities, have a strong business relationship.

Owned and operated by David Vejar, Aquabum Underwater Detail customers are the luckiest in town!

David began diving recreationally in 1998 when he was certified through Sport Chalet as a high school graduation present from his parents. His biggest fear has always been the ocean and through strength and determination, he immensed himself in the world of sport diving. Being underwater has been a large part of his life ever since. Shortly after certification, he started working at Ocean Enterprises selling retail scuba and then quickly found a home at Aqua Tech Dive Center. During that time, he met some of the most hardcore technical divers who taught him how to dive mixed gases and he spent years venturing deep into the La Jolla Canyon.

David has been working as an in-water hull cleaner since 2000 for several different agencies such as California Marine, Harbour Marine, San Diego Diving Specialties and Marine Management. He has experience with hydraulic pressure washers, hydraulic and pneumatic brushing systems, propeller installations, zinc configurations, paint systems and boat operation.

David was born and raised in San Diego and has always been active within the community. He enjoys volunteer work with many local environmental agencies and he has assisted his home church, St. Jude Shrine of the West with parental catechismal classes. We strongly believe that "giving leads to receiving." Since David is Roman Catholic, he believes that helping the needy is a "duty" that requires everybody's participation. Since January 2008, we have been actively donating monthly funds to St. Jude Chidren's Research Hospital and Africare charities.

David graduated from Southwestern College in 2005 with an associate degree in transfer studies. He transferred to the University of San Diego where he is currently attending his senior year. He will graduate in May of 2009 with a bachelors of arts in Oceanography as well as with a minor in Environmental Studies. His immediate interests and specialties include Southern California coastal geology and copper concentrations in the San Diego Harbor.
